Infant Eczema

Dear Dr. Stoll,

I have a daughter who is 4 mos old that is suffering from eczema. I was breastfeeding and supplementing with a milk- based formula. Now, she is on Nutramigen totally. It has been 3 days and she has not started to clear up. I am wondering what should I do next. Can you give me some advice???? Another symptom I've noticed is that she has a great deal of gas that has an awful odor. Even when I was breastfeeding, this was a problem. I am wondering about CRS. She was on antibiotics at 6 weeks secondary to a ear infection. I'd appreciate any input ypou might have!
Thanks-Celine

Hi, Celene.

Any 6 wek old who gets an ear infection is desperately hypersensitive to dairy. However, her biggest need right now is to replace her probiotics. See the archives and my note about this earlier in the day.

Let us know how she does. By the way, you may need to learn about candida as well.

Since it takes 4 weeks for the skin to replace itself, you cannot really expect anything to show results in less time than that.
