Your constipation was the first sign of your IBS. The stress of the colonoscopy (and it's preparation) just pushed your over the edge into it's next stage--which would have happened later anyhow.
Once something is "broken" it takes more to fix it that what it would have taken to prevent it's finally breaking.
See the archives about LGS and about colon problems. Let us know what you learn. See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms. This is going to require SR in the long run.
You MUST start working on WHY you have this. The things HY have suggested may well give you temporary relief (possibly even for a year or so). Eventually, however, you are going to have to fact this and conquer it. Knowledge will help you do that.
