TB testing and Candida

Posted by Susan Minicozzi on September 10, 1998 at 18:13:32:

Hi Dr. Stoll: You may not remember me because it's been ages since I was on the board. I'm the Mom with the resistant Candida, and the son misdiagnosed as Autistic.
I'm still struggling with vaginal candida.Almost all of my doctors say it's a colony, and I should learn to live with it. Dr. Goldberg,(the Doc treating me for CFIDS),my chiropractor,(Dr. Kelley) and I don't accept that! I'm still working with skilled relaxation, aerobic exercise, and whole foods. I have improved greatly- but that colony is persistant.
Now for the question... I recently had a Mantoux done- as a requirement for work. (I'm an RN.) I had a very weird reaction. It was definitely red, but NOT raised. And it seemed to come and go- like hives.
It looked like an allergic reaction to me. My internist wanted me to take INH for a year. Given my history of Candida- I didn't think that was wise- especially when my
Chest Xray was negative. Recently in an RN magazine there was a letter to the editor that baffled me. It said," Because immunocompromised patients don't respond to the amount of PPD tuberculin injected in the traditional Mantoux, other skin antigens are also injected to help detect false positives. One of these is Candida". Is this normal practice???? If so, I'm sure I reacted to the Candida- not TB! Any info you have on this would be GREATLY appreciated.
At times like these, I trust ONLY you!
Thanks again!!! Sue

Dear Sue,

I agree with YOU. If this were me, I would insist on a sputum culture and any other tests they wanted to prove that this is a false positive.

How long have you done the skilled relaxation (twice a day) successfully along with the exercise & diet?

Do you know how to do a therapeutic douche that would make it impossible for any candida to grow in your vagina?

Let me know the above. There is NO reason why you have to live with this. "Colony" indeed! They should be ashamed to say something like that to you!

Walt

Dr.Stoll: I did the whole foods diet 100% PERFECTLY for an entire year. I wasn't as perfect with the exercise and meditation, but I was pretty consistant.
As for the douche, I remember reading your description of it a couple of years ago. I was, however, unable to obtain an appropriate douche bag with the stopper like you described. None of my surgical supply places had any idea where to get one. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I also would need to read your directions again. (I don't know where I put that article.) I'll do anything to get rid of this colony!!
Thanks again for your input on my TB situation. I knew I could count on you! Sue

Dear Sue,

As we get to the place where antibiotics no longer work (possibly pretty soon) the old ways of doing things better will come back & you will be able to get the douche syringe with the shield. In the meantime you can get similar benefits by doing your douche standing on your head (as much as possible). I wish I were kidding. The whole thing is for distending the vagina so that the bottom of the creases in the collapsed vagina are reached so the correct organisms grow there instead of the candida.

Send me a SASE and I will send you another copy of the protocol. My publisher's address is Sunrise health Coach. Box #12091, Panama City, FL 32401-12091.

One of the truisms about regaining wellness is that the thing one needs to do the most is the last thing to be done. I am not surprised to hear that you skimped on your skilled relaxation since, in the long run, it is the most important single thing to resolve conditions like this. Skilled relaxation alone will greatly reduce the pH of the vagina. This will resolve vaginal candida all by itself.

Just think how much work you put into the diet. If you had put half that much work into the skilled relaxation, you would be far, far ahead of where you are now. It is still not too late.

I know you may not like to hear that, but it is true.

Namaste` Walt
