LIPOMAS?

Hello,

I am a 22 year old male with what I think are Lipomas. I started getting small lumps under my skin about 6 years ago. I now have 50-75 of these lumps ranging in size from pencil erasure to nickel sized. Most are pea shaped, and hard, while a few are flatish and circular. They are easily moved, just under the skin, and mostly in my upper legs, arms, back, and abdominal area. The ones on my back and stomach are sometimes quite painful. When they first arise, they are quite painful...then they grow to pensil earaser or nickel size, then stop growing.

No lymph nodes are swollen, no night sweats, great appetite, etc. Its just really scary having these lumps and I can't go to a doctor for reasons I will keep private (no offense intended). My mother has lipomas but hers are larger than mine and not painful. She is a little overweight while I am quite skinny.

From everything I have read, it seems like I have lipomas, but there is always that voice in the back of my head saying "cancer = lumps". Does anyone concur on my thought that they are lipomas, have differing opinions, or have any advice? If they are lipomas, can I alter my diet to stem the formation? I'd LOVE to hear from others who have lipomas as there are ZERO support groups and info is next to non existent. Thank you all kindly.

David, a frustrated 22 year old.

PS...on another note, I noticed someone post that essential oils will stem the formation. How is this done and what are essential oils? Has anyone treated Lipomas successfully with these oils?? I am so desperate...

Hi,David

AS you know Dr Stoll not answering posts while recovering. In the meantime you can read all available information available in the archives on lipomas, fatty tumors, etc...

Surfed the net and located the following set of websites available under google.com. BTW, these aren't known to be life threatening according to brief information I reviewed.

I've got a friend who has had this for years and he's just now thinking of getting it taken care of as it tends to get aggrivated if it's touched when anyone gives him a hug.

Hope this helps. Perhaps, another participant will have more information to share with you.:-)

Paulette,

Thank you for that link and the kind words. I have read every piece of information on the web about Lipomas, it doesn't take long, there is very little. More than anything i'd just like to be able to talk to someone going through what I am. I know there are a few of you out there because I have read your stories at other sites...but e-mail addresses are never present.

Its just so frustrating...lipomas caused the end of a promising professional baseball career for me (long story), I avoid hugs because people ALWAYS pat one of the lipomas in my back which results in horrible pain, and I am quite sure a couple lipomas are compressing nerves. I have even decided not to have children (something I have always lookied forward to) because I could not bear to put them through this same ordeal (there is a genetic connection).

Once again, I thank you for the time you spent answering my post.

David

Hi, David

Obviously I don't know what you're going through and can only try to get you further information on your possible condition. I wish you would be able to see a Doctor, however, it's not my call.

Surprised that you read all possible 1041 sites and might not have read this one below as mentioned direclty from the google.com search engine.

Hope this might be of some help in fiding you information
