I've seen some info. that says during any menstruation and some that says during heavy bleeding. Does anyone know why?

Because castor oil can be a uterine contractor. So it may (and I have seen it) cause cramping (or more cramping) during menstruation.

Thanks, Just.
I know of no reason why you would avoid the packs during menstruation. Sources?

Thanks, Just.
I have carefully read all 3 of these "references".
In my opinion, this is an example of how unsubstantiated stuff gets printed and reprinted, without question, over the years.
I would be interested in hearing what ANY of these "authors" had to say about any research in this area. My bet is that they would quote each other and have nothing but old wives' tales as to why they included this spurious warning.
Foggedaboudit.
