Liver/Gallbladder flush testimonial

Posted by ~CT on November 05, 2003 at 09:31:01:

Yesterday I experienced a dull, intermittent throb in my gallbladder. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to do the flush because I was a fraid I might have a blockage.

If I went to the doctor, he would want to send me in for tests - expensive and time consuming but a c.y.a. sort of thing. The research I have read on stones is that most everyone has them, some more than others. The tests would reveal this and they might talk me into having surgery before the pain progressed.

Instead of going to my doctor, I opted to call Walt. I told him of my fear of doing the flush (getting a stone stuck somehow)and his response was basically "What do you have to lose?" I'm sure he could tell that my pain wasn't severe and that I was capable of doing the flush. He said the worst that could happen was that a stone WOULD get stuck and I would need to have surgery or I could do nothing, let the pain progress, and still have to have surgery down the road. My choice.

I have saved S.H.A.P.E.'s past posts on liver/gallbladder flushes. I re-read them a few times, printed out the instructions, and decided I could handle the flush, considering my alternative.

Although I had already eaten an early lunch, I decided to go ahead with the flush. I prepared the epsom salt, put it in the fridge, and used my time to convince myself I could do this.

The epsom salt drink wasn't that bad, but it isn't the most pleasant tasting. I rinsed my mouth out and tolerated it well with little nausea. At 9pm I fell asleep and didn't wake up until 10:30. I went ahead with the olive oil drink (minus the grapefruit because I didn't have one) and the first sip was horrid! I decided then and there I could not do this. I paced around for a bit and kept telling myself this was something I had to do - not to feel better or energized, but to avoid surgery. My first few sips came right back up. Vomiting on an empty stomach is painful! I grabbed a bottle of apple juiced drink, took another sip of olive oil, immediately gargled with the apple juice and was able to keep the olive oil down, alternating rinsing my mouth out each time. I finally managed to get most of the olive oil down, but it wasn't easy. I kept telling myself that it was mind over matter, and this couldn't possibly compare to surgery. I imagined the pains from surgery with each sip of olive oil - the bloating, the recovery, the stitches, the anesthesia, the possible complications, the cost.

I layed down on my side and fell asleep. This morning I continued with the epsom salts, and within 30 minutes evacuated some very large "stones". My guess is that there were about 200 total that were sizeable and easy to distinguish. None of them were hard/calcified, and all of them were pea green.

I am hoping that my pain won't come back and that I'll feel better as the day progresses. Right now I feel sluggish and a bit dizzy from not eating.

Thank you very much, Walt, for your time, and SHAPE for your research/information. Had this happened to me two years ago, I know surgery would have seemed my only option.

Good for you CT! You have taken full responsiblity for your health, rather than aollow conventional doctors to make a profit off your suffering. Those individuals who aollow doctors to remove their gallbladder ends up still suffering. Without a gallbladder, you either have to little or to much "Bile" entering into your digestive tract, not to mention their liver is still full of toxic waste matter (soft stones), which was the "Root Cause" of their suffering in the first place. You should really be proud of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * S.H.A.P.E. *

CT - If your "Pain" returns in a week or two, this simply means that more stones have dropped down into your gallbladder from your liver. If this happens, you need to keep performing the liver flush every two to four weeks, until you have eliminated all the stones. The dizziness and weakness will go away, it's simply a detoxing symptom. You might also experience some emotional changes so don't worry if this happens. * S.H.A.P.E. *

I highly recommend the grapefruit juice next time around! I don't think I could drink olive oil straight, either. I'd take the grapefruit/olive oil over the epsom salts any time (yuk!) :)

I guess since I haven't tried doing this the absolute "correct" way, I can't really say it would be better, but I can't imagine!

At least your comments gives me hope that the next time won't be so bad since I will probably have to do this again a few times :0

So far, so good, except for the tiredness!

What sort of emotional changes are to be expected?

Thanks, ~CT, for sharing your experience.

Perhaps it will get others to do this BEFORE they get into the atate where you were. In that state you have less reserves to do the flush (psychologically). Congratulations for getting yourself through it. Now, when you are asymptomatic, would be a good time to repeat it.

Au contrair, Dr. Stoll. There couldn't have been a better incentive for me to do the flush, considering I procrastinated for months on end.

The swift kick in the arse, errr, gallbladder, worked well :)
