CONTINUOUS ABDOMINAL PAIN AFTER GALL BLADDER SURGERY

Hello:
I had my gall bladder removed three weeks ago after a Hyda Scan showed that it was only functioning at 4%. I had been having a lot of constant upper abdominal pain and more acute pain associated with attacks after eating (the fat content of the food seemed irrelevant). I have recovered from the surgery, but have started to experience the same type of upper abdominal pain. I don't know if I have to just quick my body a chance to adjust, or if something else is wrong. I have had ultrasounds, upper GI, x-rays, blood work, etc. Nothing else has been detected. Any advise?

Hi, Debbie.

Too bad that you did not learn what options you had, besides surgery, BEFORE having the surgery. You would still have your gallbladder and you would not be having any pain.

Surgery for gall bladder dysfunction and/or stones has not been necessary for MY patients for at least 12 years. The same gall bladder flush ( even though you have no gallbladder) castor oil packs to the liver, management of LGS and the elimination/provocation diet would be the ideal thing for you to do now.

See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

THEN, if you still have questions write again.

Hi, Patti.

Go to your health food store for a protocol. NOTHING works for EVERYONE. If you have read the gallbladder entries on this BB, you know how many people wish they had not had the surgery.

What harm can it do for you to try it? It is perfectly safe and, if your symptoms so not go away, you can always have the surgery and throw the dice THAT way!

All I can say is that I was sending an average of 5 patients a year to ths gallbladder surgeon UNTIL I learned better. For the next 15 years I only had ONE person I had to send to the surgeon and she refused to do the "flush". SHE was very unhappy with the surgical results but at least she had the privilege of deciding who to believe. She just chose the wrong one. Of course, I did not make any friends of the gallbladder surgeons from then on.

In the meantine, we now know what causes most gallbladder disease: high sugar, high fat diet, overweight, smoking and LGS. If you continue THAT lifestyle, you can give yourself the problem again.
