Thirty-four years ago, when I was nineteen, my gall bladder was removed due to stone formation.
The last two years I have been experiencing burning pain in the liver area. I have had two ultrasounds and have been diagnosed with and enlarged duct in the liver. My doctor says this is normal post gall bladder surgery.
The pain is intense, often will wake me up at night. I wonder how much is known about the long term effects of gall bladder removal at such a young age.
Any suggestions about further investigation?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely
Linda

Having just read some of the posts on this board regarding gall bladder flushes, I am wondering if my pain is caused from stones of sludge and is showing up as the enlarged duct in the liver.
Does anyone have experience with doing the flush when the bladder has been removed?

Hi, Linda.
This is common post GB surgery. That is a far cry from saying that it is "normal".
This is the result of doing nothing about the cause of your original condition and considering that simply removing the offending organ is all that needs to be done.
Of course, that long ago few people knew WHY GBs got stones. The unfortunate thing now it that even though nearly everyone knows the causes, STILL the quick and easy (& lucrative) thing to do is the same as 34 years ago.
Your best bet. STILL, is to change those causes and hope for the best. See the liver archives and let us know what you learn. Surgical removal of the GB, without dealing with the causes, is just a more drastic way of putting black tape over the warning light on the dashboard.

How does one deal with the causes once the stones are formed???

The same way one deals with the causes BEFORE the stones are formed. The causes don't change. practicing wellness at any time during the disease process will help. the archives the good dr. refered to are loaded with how to do this.

Lyndsey.
You can ALWAYS go have the surgery if the gallbladder flush does not get rid of them for you.
