I just read that the Epsom salts can cause cardiac arrest. Does anyone know of this info or have anymore details on it??
Also, I understand it is possible that a stone might get stuck in the bile ducts. This makes sense to me and I can see how it could happen, ya know, if the stone is too large. should I be concerned of this? I am 25 years old so I can't imagine having a stone that large.
I have already started the apple juice so I am getting ready to do this. I just want to be sure that I will be safe.

Hi, Amy.
The epsom salts warning is silly. However, if you are still concerned, it is only used as a laxative and there are a lot of other strong laxitives you could use.
I used to be afraid of a stone getting stuck in the common duct as well. However, since I have watched nearly a hundred "flushes" without this happening (and some people passing stones an inch in diameter) I no longer think this is a serious worry.
HOWEVER the worst that could happen is that you would have to have an "emergency" operation (within 12-24 hours of the happening) and surgery is what you are trying to avoid. So what would be the big deal?
Hope this helps.
Let us know how you do.

Thanks, that made me feel better. But,.....I understand what you are saying on your last line to me about the surgery but to be honest, I am not at a point that I am even CLOSE to surgery yet. I just don't want to go head-first into needing surgery. At 25 years old, I couldn't possibly have stones of any large size. Maybe smaller though. I do know that I have LGS but I am working very well at eliminating the cause. I also found out today that I have Wilson's syndrome and I have been put on a low dose of T3. I had been on thyroid glandulars but they didn't get my temperature up. The doc (holistic of course) said that I have "reverse" T3 and that because of it, no energy is being produced therefore I am tired, depressed, and have a low body temp. He says it's a natural T3 so there will be no side-effects. Besides that, he is helping me with my LGS. He worked with Dr. Leo Galland so I am confident he can help me.
Thanks,
Amy

dont bother dr stoll with this hokum ! he gave his response once about epsom salts and dozens of times about the cleanse in general. be equitable and spend YOUR time reading the archives before you place demands on his time answering questions which are already covered elsewhere. trust in his experience. he saw probably thousands of patients in practice and lead some of them through perhaps hundreds of cleanses.
and if you dont believe him, seek out any of the other dozens of doctors info on these things. but i know, its just easier to sit there and type.
there are no guarantees in life...asking more and more questions about obscure aspects of minutia will not provide the level of reassurance you are after, because the level of reassurance you are after does not exist. you might not be the type of people for whom self health care is beneficial. you have gotten too accustomed to the false confidance of regular symptom suppressing allopathic doctors.
i know lots of people have read this thread and must agree !

Thats what (I thought) this board is all about and if Dr. Stoll doesn't want to answer questions in this forum then he doesn't have to! As for reading the archives, I HAVE read and read but there are just so many hours in the day! Besides the archives are just a bunch of posts you have to weed through and you aren't always able to find the info you are looking for.
I am not at all a disbeliever in natural alternatives vs. conventional medicine! I just want to know more about this procedure before I do it... just like if an MD wants to perscribe something for me... I ask questions and want to know what the side effects are.
You sound like you need to go practice some SR! Chill out!

Thanks, QT.
See if anyone can produce ANY research that demonstrates this "risk". The manufacturers are just CYAing. All ANY MD has to do is suggest that this could be a problem and they run to cover their a----. The power of the unconfronted AMA is awesome!
