Re: HCV & Lupus / Treatment?

Posted by Jeanne P. on February 04, 1998 at 23:19:30:

I recently tested positive for HCV antibody on a life insurance pre-exam. Just gave about a pint of blood today to another lab; being screened for everything. Awaiting results. But interestingly enough, my sister had lupus-type lab results recently; our mother died of cancer 16 yrs. ago.
Anything connected here?

Dear Jeanne,

Of course, this is all connected.

You have 3 basic choices to learn how:

1. Become a student of Hans Selye, MD's writings for the past 50 years. ALL libraries can find them for you.

2. Read "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer" by Dr Pelletier (all libraries & bookstores have copies) or, if you want to just open the door:

3. Read a copy of my book (link below) and THEN decide whether you want to get deeply involved with the above.

Let us know what you learn.

Tim,
There are many resources on the Internet that provide both mainstream and alternative information on Lupus. Here are a few sites that I came up with. I'd suggest you also look to Dr. Stoll's papers on the specific symptoms of lupus (e.g., joint and muscle pain, fatigue...). Lupus is a very difficult desease to diagnose, so you may want to explore a range of possible causes of lupus-like symptoms. I'd recommend the Perfect Whole Food Diet as a means to better health regardless of the diagnosis.

I'd suggest you try a search with +lupus +alternative.

Check out these sites:

Dear Dr. Stroll

July of this year I was told that I had lupas inhibiitors, lupoid hepatitis + Hepatititis C from a bllood product in 1988. I have waited now for seven months to start on a program for hepatitis c. So I started taking herbs along with thmus and feel much better now my doctors want me to stop the herbs. I told them I was not willing to put up with the pain. The herbs did not take my leg cramps away and they are getting worse . I also have a factor 8 and DVT/ I am a massage theraptist and work six days per week by the end of the day I am exhausted and can hardly put one foo in front of the other . Hope to hear from you soon.

Dear June,

Lupus has the same causes as rheumatiod arthritis and ALL other autoimmunological connective tissue disorders.

Use the search feature for this BB & read everything you can find about lupus, RA, and the like. Then ask the search feature to look for Robert McFerran. Bob is an RA (former and far advanced) sufferer who has a lot to say that would help you.

Isn't it interesting that the docs would tell you to stop the only thing that helped you??? The only reason they did was that they knew nothing about herbs. It seems to me that they have a responsibility to figure out why they did help you rather than just to sweep them under the rug. After all, who is this about anyway????

As a massage practitioner, you already know that everything is connected. You DO NOT have 6 different conditions. You have one basic mechanism out of whack & all of your conditions are messages from your bodymind about THAT.

Have you read Dr Pelletier's classic work: "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer"? With your profession, I would recommend it as a must. It is interesting to me that the same thing that would enhance your profession would also point you in a healthier direction for yourself.

Once you have the above under your belt, I hope you will write again with any more questions.

Walt
