Saw on the news the USDA banned the use of bovine brains in dietary supplements. I was getting ready to try a hypothalamus glandular and I guess that isn't going to happen. Anyone know of another source for glandulars for pituitary and hypothalamus? Here is a link...

Karen,
I think this may only affect some of the Standard
Process products. Most of the Metagenics and the Wilson
products are from porcine sources as are the AOR that I
take.

Yeah, it effects the hypo and pit that I am looking for. I found one at biotics Research company that uses neonatal tissue. The ban is on cows older than 30 days old. These that biotics uses are 1-3 days old. Anyone know if Biotics is a reputable company?

Yeah, I just did some more searching and found that article. Not good. Wilson's might work for me. It does have hypo in it as well as pit and others. My only concern is the adrenal gland concentrate. What exactly is that? I have to be sure it will not increase any more adrenaline in my body since I have this rapid/irregular heartrate going on. It says it doesn't contain hormones, but I think I have read that it is important to make sure it doesn't contain the part of the gland that produces adrenaline..or is that adrenal cell extract...do you know the difference?

With your specs I would suggest a call to the Wilson
people would be advisable.
Btw..even though the other company did have that one
problem I would not totally count them out. I still think
a letter to Standard Process is in order. One of the most
intelligent healers I know swears by them. They can probably supply the name of a practitioner near you.

I will do some more researching. I emailed SP to see what they are going to do about the new ban. I haven't heard back yet. I really wanted to go with them because I know they are a good company. I have only heard great stories from them. Keep me posted on how you do on Wilson's supplements, and good luck.

Thanks, Karen.
Now if they would just ban it in animal feed this man-made problem would be over.

That is if what you hear from the mass media were true. But not according to Mark Purdey. It takes some fortitude to resist the desire to go the easy route:

I got an email back from SP stating the ban doesn't affect them since they use cattle under 30 months old. The ban is only for cattle over 30 months. So that is good news.
