Could someone give me an idea of what Rolfing costs. I do understand it is 10 sessions, would just like an idea before I pursue further. Thanks.

Dear Vicki,
The last time I had it done to me it cost $75 per session which took about 90 minutes each. Knowing the years of training it takes a Rolfer to get to the stage of Certification, I saw that as a real bargain.

Hi. It's been a long time since I've posted here. My GERD is better, and I continue to work on skilled relaxation. I'm scheduled for my first massage session next week. My question is this: When Walt recommends massage 3 times per week for 2 weeks, what is the preferred length of time for the sessions? My first session is for twenty minutes using the chair.
All input is appreciated.

Hi, Linda w/Gerd,
I think Walt emphasized that a deep, full-body massage is required, and that would take at least an hour. Takes time to coax those muscles into letting go!

Jenny is right about the 1 hour, DEEP total-body massage. I might also add that no massaging chair is going to do the trick. You need a GOOD masseur/masseuse to perform the type of therapuetic massage needed....and I can't envision it being performed on anything other than a table/bed in a lying down position. A good massage therapist knows how deep to go, and will keep going deeper each session to get to the problem areas.

Dear Linda,
A deep, total-body, therapeutic massage (the type that is needed for this to accumulate enough benefit to last a while) takes about 60-90 minutes and is done lying naked on a massage table.
Your chair session will probably make you feel a little better but it will not do what I have been talking about.
