Following on from an earlier posting where I descirbed
developing chemical sensitivity due to teaching in new
classrooms over 3 years..... I have developed a
swelling in my neck which has been noticed by a dr
and investigated via scan and blood test (negative
results) I am on a waiting list to see a doctor/
naturopath regarding the inflamed colon, continual
heartburn, newly developed asthma, chronic sinusitis
and heightened reactivity to foods, smells and
chemical, fatigue and mental/memory problems. I am
52, could the neck swelling be some fatty deposit or is
it more likely that i have some early thyroid problem. Is
it likely to be related to chemical exposure? I am on
HRT to try and improve memory and other things.
I have researched thyroid condtions, CFS and MCS and
wonder if I'm just overreacting to a whole set of
symptoms which might not even be related. Please
help if you can.

Thanks, Helen.
One of the first things we are taught in medical school is that the most likely diagnosis is the one that explains ALL of the symptoms. People rarely have more than one mechanism going on at the same time.
That means you need to put all of your attention onto the MCS and THEN, when that is addressed, see what symptoms you have left.
So far, you have not posted any that would not be caused by MCS.
Let us know what you learn and how you do.

do a thorough detoxification of your living habits and watch many of your symtoms simply vanish ! i lived it and continue to.

Thanks,k Leon.
A very effective approach for most people. Usually, though, if that is all one does, the results only last a few years.

Thanks walt,
It is really helpful to go through the archives and read
relevant info. I have obtained several books from the
US re the thyroid connection and am getting more
informed.
I was placed on HRT for memory problems at about 45.
I noticed an improvement but now am wondering if the
HRT (climara patch and then organon) would have
exacerbated any thyroid (hypo) developments through
exposure to outgassing and other chemicals.
Thanks for your input...in this part of the world, an
island off and island (Tasmania, Aus) methods are very
orthodox
