MCS (Dr. Stoll)

Posted by Heather on May 22, 2002 at 23:10:52:

Hi Dr. Stoll,
Have you seen many MCS patients get completely well to the point that they are non-reactive? I'd be very interested. I just read an article in Without (gluten-free recipe and article magazine) about a woman who got completely well and noticed many in the archives here stated that their symptoms were dramatically improved with no sugar/dairy/wheat, and wondered what you have seen in your clinical experience as far as complete recoveries.
Thanks-
Heather

Hi, Heather.

Yes I have! Remember, Mother Nature has given us the most powerfully evolved bodymind on the planet. We do not have to eliminate all the contributing factors, only enough to get back up and away from the lip of the cliff.

However, since those with MCS are the "canaries in our coalmine" they will have to spend the rest of their lives practicing eternal vigilence to keep from falling back into the pit. Their genetic susceptibility puts them into a clas by themselves.

For these people, serious wellness is the simplest and cheapest thing to do to acomplish the above.

Walt

I thought I would drop this little fact here for you to view. Studies have shown that saturated fats actually PROTECT the liver. Vegetable oils have been shown to harm the liver and slow detoxification. So, it would make sense to eat a no-sugar/refined food diet (including refined vegetable oils) and to focus on healthy vegetables, organic meats with the fat, fatty fish, as well as other healthy fats like coconut oil, olive oil, avocados and nuts. I was once on the verge of MCS with severe leaky gut. This type of diet helped turn that around. Of course, the wellness approach as Dr. Stoll suggests is the ONLY way you will ever achieve health in the long run. I just thought i'd mentioned the dietary tip for you. take care
