Judy, I know what it's like to be troubled by problems with an ailing husband and seemingly no answers from the medical community. So I just offer this as a possibility because I know you need SOMEthing until a better answer comes along.

Have you heard of rebounders - the little mini-trampolines? Used to very gently bounce the body, wonderful results have been claimed. For one they exercise the lung area in a safe way and also stimulate the lymphatic system - all to the good, especially for someone who, for varying reasons, may not be getting enough exercise.

My husband has lung problems but I can never get doctors interested in anything beyond drugs. I KNOW there's something better.

Last week my husband was in the hospital for a sleep study. The nurse and I shared a passion for natural alternatives and she took me to another room where she showed me a vest type garment, hooked up to a machine that caused the vest, thus the person wearing it, to gently vibrate - much as if that person were rebounding. I feel so excited just knowing that a hospital is using and evaluating such a device. I will be looking more into this but in the meantime it might give you something to be aware of and I'm sure that someone on this message board will have more to offer.

I'll be thinking of you.

I saw a piece on TV that showed people laying down and
wearing a leg and maybe abdomen covering device that
Squeezed them and made their bodies move. Can't remember
what they said it treated.

Hi, Judy.

What did the "cell-block" pathology report of the fluid say?

Did they even do a chemical analysis???

How old is your husband and what other conditions does he have?

Chronic pleural fluid, that is hard to diagnose, is frequently due to environmental chemicals. My 30 year old brother nearly died from this before HE discovered the connection to his yard chemicals.

If this TRULY is hard to diagnose, he needs a consult by a Clinical Ecologist. See the MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) archives to find the one closest to him.

Let us know what you learn and how he does.

Walt
