I am a 39 yo woman who has exhusted my life savings and endured a devastating divorce all as a result of MCS. Nobody understands. I have had signs over the years but did not know what I was experiencing. Headaches and dizziness from diet sodas, reactions to pine sol and the like. I was told by my chemist ex husband that I was over reacting. I have been devastated by what has become of my once active life. I had finally figured it out w/much research and spiritual perserverance. Unfortunately, a recent over exposure to a negligent hairdresser left me bedridden with pain and fatigue not to mention a whole host of neurological symptoms., due to an over exposure of dyes. I have had to drop 2 of the 3 of my college classes and quit work. I have cleansed until I am exhausted. Any other ideas out there. I know I will get better but some advice is well needed. Do many MCS sufferers also experience the effects of neurotoxins as I have?

Hi Diane,
I am a 33 year old college student. I was going to college full time on scholarship. Last year I had to drop to part time when I developed MCS. I am also exhaused from cleaning constantly, but I'm finally making some progress in cleaning up my home. I've developed a collection of tips and resources. You're welcome to e-mail me privately if you want.
Best wishes,
Dawn

Hi, Diane and Dawn.
Remember what you had to do to figure this out for yourself (with little or no help from professionals)? Well it looks like both of you have only learned about half of the process. There are 2 sides to every coin and you are just looking at one of the sides.
IF all you do is clean up your environment, although that will help for a long time, you will just become sensitive to other things. You have to also look to improving your system's general health so you will be stronger.
See the homepage article: "How to be healthy."
The combination of your awareness of this crippling condition, cleaning up your environment AND improving your health does the most good immediately AND in the long run.
Let us know how you do.

Hi Walt,
I have learned the other half (thanks to you) :-)
This gets to a concern I have about the treatment of MCS. Currently clinical ecologists are the only practicioners we can see who have even the slightest clue how to help us. But if a new patient follows the usual advice of a clinical ecologist she/he is in for a tremendous amount of hard, physical labor for a very long time (maybe six month to a year). It seems to me that working yourself to exhaustion is only going to lower your immunity. BUT the removal of chemicals certaily from the home certainly has to be beneficial also. Any thoughts?
Namaste,
Dawn

Hi, Dawn.
Reducing the environmental burden of chemicals AND improving our wellness BOTH gives one more reserves with which to deal with this problem.
That is what I would do even before seeing any C.E.
