MCS

Posted by Sandy on February 11, 2001 at 08:22:11:

I suffer severely with MCS. I am house bound, and only go out to food shop. I react to everything. Have you heard of EPD shots? (Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization) I heard that this might help. I had my mercury fillings out, and on a rotation diet. I feel about 2% better. But now I am so tired and depressed from only eating 7 foods. I react to even odd foods.

Yes, I have heard of EPD. It is supposed to be very helpful. I believe it is being administered as part of an FDA trial. You need to find a Dr that does integrative medicine and EPD. Check around the web I think there is a site called doctors medical library that can give you a list of Dr's that do the treatment. Also accupuncture can be helpful. There are some other alternative treatments that are also supposed to be quite helpful. You will need to check around and do some investigative work. I think that one of the things in favor of EPD is that since it is an FDA trial it should might be covered by your insurance, where as many of the other alternative methods are not covered.

Sandy,

I think I was eating less than 7 items with rice and a
Little chicken. Then I was able to eat a little ham. Oatmeal
helped me a Great deal.

Hi, Sandy.

Listen to dmaryd and Vince. Have you made contact, yet, with CIIN (See the glossary)?

Have you read the archives about MCS, Clinical Ecology and stress effect with LGS?

I have yet to see anyone resolve this problem without dealing with their LGS.

See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

Hope this helps. This condition is probably at the top of the list of stuff that are examples of: "Chronic problems will never be resolved by something one TAKES but by something one DOES."

Walt

Sandy

Here is a link that might help you find a Dr that does EPD:
http:www.medical-library.net
You might need to look under allergy medicine as I did not see any listed under EPD. I am not sure where you live, but I do know of several in California that do EPD. Let me know if you have any further questions.
