Resource for people with Dysautonomia

Posted by Happygal [2062.23] on June 02, 2005 at 10:01:47:

Hi Walt,

I followed one of your recommendations for learning about holistic health, and started reading the book "90 Days to Self-Health" by C. Normal Shealy, MD. It is a great book. I wanted to post it as a resource for people with dysautonomia, since there are basically no books available on the topic and almost no information on the internet, either. Dr. Shealy mentions that dysautonomia is a widespread condition, and the protocol in his book is excellent for dysautonomia. I haven't finished reading the book yet, but I already find his suggestions helpful (I have dysautonomia).

Used copies are available from Amazon.com. It's also available through interlibrary loan.

Best wishes,
Jan

Hi Steve,

He tells you how to gain control over your autonomic nervous system.

Here is the subtitle of the book: "Biogenics: how to control all types of stress by yourself through a complete health program of autogenics, diet, vitamins, and exercise."

He teaches through a 90-day protocol how to regulate and control your own autonomic nervous system. I got up to the first day and decided to spend about two weeks practicing it, because it was so useful. The material seems to complement the 3LS very nicely. Hope that answers your question.

Best wishes,
Jan

I find it interesting how important controling stress is and keeping the electral system that the body has working correctly..Because we can't see engery flowing through our bodies, we forget and don't pay proper attention to it..

It was a nice surprise seeing your post. I just posted further down about dysautonomia myself, well somewhat in my post. I have dysautonomia myself. I am going right now to check into the book. Thanks!

Happygal,

Did a search and could only find a book called "90 Days to Stress-Free Living" by this guy. Did you mean to say that or is there another book?

Maz

Hi Maz,

It's "90 Days to Self-Health," by Norm Shealy, MD. Did you try Amazon? I've already ordered four copies from them, one for me and three for my friends. Cheap.

It could be the same book under a different title -- sometimes book publishers change the name of a book -- ??

Best wishes,
Jan
