Dr Stoll, i have c-rs and mercury toxicity from fillings. i have been practicing your methods for some months now and i have gotten better but not fully well. i saw a local alternative medicine doctor who had first diagnosed the mercury problem via a hair test. he put me on dmsa and i had my fillings removed. that was 3 months ago. i just had another hair test which showed a slightly higher amount( 2.1 ppm versus2.0 ppm). he states to stay on the dmsa as without geting the mercury level lower i'll never beat the candida/leaky gut problem, no matter what else i do. do you agree?

Dear t.k.,
What are the "normal" levels of Hg at the lab where you had this done?
I am not an expert in the mercury problem but know enough about it to know when to refer someone to someone who IS--AND how to assess the expertise of THAT professional.
Hg toxicity (and hypersensitivity) has a serious depressing effect on immunity & could be one of the reasons you are having trouble with the candida. ANY of the wellness things we have discussed on this BB would increase your immunity in other ways & make the Hg less of a total cause.
For now, I would suggest you contact a friend of mine who is one of the world's experts in this area and ask her this question. Tell her I suggested you contact her. She has just published her second book on the subject.
She is Lydia Bronte`, PhD and her email address is lbronte1@aol.com
