Hi, Ben.

In general, it is some kind of composite. An added benefit is that it is mostly white (perfectly matched to your own enamel).

However this, too, can be highly individual. Hal Huggins, DMD, has been teaching how to test for which substance is the safest & best for any individual for 20 years.

You could get a line on the dentists in your part of the country who have had the training by calling (800) 331-2303.

Let us know what you learn.

You need to be very cautious with "White Fillings" as some comntain heavy metals and some are composite over amalgam. A major concern is mixing metals in your mouth. There are a number of excellent websites on this topic. I'll post some from home where I have my bookmarks.

Thanks, Peter.

I agree. That is why I recommended Hal Huggins as a clearing house for dentists who know how to match the filling to the person.
