I have not searched this whole BB, so the following may be duplicate info.
I have had discussions with a "biological dentist" (her phrase) about mercury toxicity. I alos asked her about the need to remove teeth with root canals to resolve health problems (due to bacteria living in the dentin tubules of teeth with root canals).
She said she is involved in a research effort (with someone from a Univ in Tennessee as I recall) involving the use of a new material which does a better job of penetrating the spaces in the teeth, so that alternate materials will soon be (are now?) available.
I also found a website (http://www.intergate.bc.ca/personal/sweet/root.htm) that describes a new material for root canals called Biocalix. Can't be sure it is the same thing the dentist was talking about, but I think it was.
(That website also presents a case for MS being caused by mercury
from amalgam fillings.)

Thanks, Richard!
Sounds like there are, finally, dentists and websites that are taking this stuff seriously. The ADA still considers all this stuff quackery.
Although the AMA is still saying stuff like "diet has nothing to do with chronic disease", this week's Newsweek has a cover story of about 10 pages about the food & disease connection. of course, they are reporting what has been known for more than 15 years-----------but it is a start.
