Mercury blood tests results?

Posted by

I recently had a blood test taken to test the levels of mercury in my blood. The problem is neither I nor my doctor have any idea what the results conclude. My doctor sent my blood work out of state to be tested and assumes the results show low amounts of mercury levels. If anyone can interpert the numbers please email me asap.
Result 5
Reference range: 0-60 UG/L
Any information would be most appreciated and helpful.
God Bless,
Annette

Hi, Annette.

Blood tests for mercury are notoriously inaccurate without the doc knowing how to do the test. One must do an IV chelation and then, either do a 24 hour urine test for mercury OR do the blood test about 12 hours after the chelation. Mercury is bound in tissues and is not available to the blood test unless you do it like that. Your doc still hasn't learned how to do this.

Let us know what you learn.

Walt
