Magnets

Posted by Harriet on August 23, 1999 at 10:42:01:

I just went to Archives and clicked on Magnets and got Metaphysical instead. I clicked on Metaphysical and got Metaphysical.
I have low back pain and muscle pain in my thigh muscles. I am looking for information on magnets/pain. The matress pad is very expensive. Is it worth the money? Are some products better than others?

The link to metaphysical is because there are archived posts in there relating to magnets. There is no separate magnets archive as far as I can tell.

Hope this helps.

Hi Harriet,

See a post farther down the board from August 18 posted by Helen David. I think it's titled Magmets and Health. Good luck!

Hi Harriet,

I have limited experience with magnets but all my experience has been positive. I have some posts further down as Trish already told you. I believe the magnets work by relieving stress in some fashion. I loaned my friend who has shoulder pain, a magnetic wrist band on Saturday suggesting she place it on her shoulder. She wore it on her wrist and when I called her on Monday she said she would not give the wrist band back because she had such relief. Her mood and energy level were elsevated, also.

So, I think you wouldn't need a whole mattress, perhaps shoe inserts or bands or something.

I think there is a difference in quality of magnetic products. Apparently the ones you purchase at a regular store for $25 or so do not have the technology of direct sales products and are not as effective. I personally have never used those so I cannot say.

One thing I would not do is rely on the magnets as the only way to feel well. When you have relieved the pain, look into the causes of the pain and use the suggestions for a good wellness program found on this BB-diet, skilled relaxation and exercise.

Hope this helps.

Helen

Hi, Bill.

This is another example of why we need an EMF archive. There could, logically, be many different archives about electromagnetic effects, magnets, EMF smog, etc. However, for now, I think it would be enough just for people to have a place where they could reliably find electrical and magnetic stuff. NOT in metaphysical, though.

Love, Dad
