Magnesium

Posted by Finlay on May 03, 2002 at 10:19:42:

Hi,

The previous post from Pam started me thinking. I have been taking magnesium glycinate 300 mg (plus whatever is in my multi - I think 100mg of unknown type) for some 6 months now. The reason I started was I had developed arrythmia and bad leg cramps. Also restless legs. I realised that the deficiency had been brought about by severe stress.

What I want to know is how long should I keep taking this? Is it safe to carry on? I also take

1 Multi
1 50mg B Complex (for anxiety)
1 200mg Vit E
1 Boron
1 Zinc
1 B6
2 Fish Oil
1 Evening Primrose Oil
1 gram Vit C

These are not all taken together. Some are taken first thing in morning and some with lunch.

As the magnesium was for a deficiency and not maintainance, how long should I carry on with it. As regards the B Complex I think I will always need that. Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Did all those things help your symptoms, Finlay?

YES, but some are only for general health. The magnesium finished off my symptoms listed.

Hi, Finlay.

What have been your results?

Takiung this dose forever is perfectly safe but you might be able to save some money if I knew what had happened with this dose.

Hey, Finlay.

This is the info I was looking for. This means that you can safely cut your magnesium dose in half and see how long it takes for your symptoms to recur. If they do not, in a year, you can cut the dose in half again.

You keep doing that until your symptoms come back and then you will know you have cut too far.

Hope this helps.

Walt
