After 3 years of being ill I have recently been diagnosed with fms. My Rheumatologist has started me on mag sulf inj. once a week for 12 weeks with an office visit in 6 weeks. Two days after my first shot I felt like i'd been beaten up. I wondered if it was due to the shot or just another attack of pain in coincidence. Also everything i'm reading on this board is about IV mag twice a week. My injections are IM once a week. I appreciate your advise
Thanks

Hi, Angie.
I am impressed that your rheumatologist recognizes the relationship between the muscle tension, always present in your condition, and magnesium. Aren't the IM injections painful?
You need to be on a good slug of oral magnesium even now. It will begin to be absorbed well once your IM injections build up enough. IM works as well as IV only not as fast and more painful.
Remember that SR will help anything else you do with this condition. See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.
Let us know how you do.
