How would you recommend one to start taking magnesium supplementation as a therapeutic trial?
What dose and at which times of the day?
Is there any dietary precaution to be taken during this period? What about calcium intake from other foods and how can you control the magnesium-calcium balance?
Can magnesium supplementation be considered as a substitute for skilled relaxation?
I am eager to know.
Thanks.

Hi Adam,
It's not a substitute for SR, they are two totally different things.
Absorbable magnesium includes orotate, aspartate, glycinate and even gluconate. I can't remember the exact doses -- check with the archives for complete information about magnesium. Hopefully you will find your answers there or maybe someone else knows the answers.
Best wishes,
Happygal

The purpose is to eliminate the feeling of fatigue, moderate insomnia and heart beats.
Thanks

do you have reason to believe that a magnesium deficiency is the cause of these problems? Have you evaluated your diet and stress levels? If nutrition is lacking, you might want to consider a whole food supplement like PF for a more balanced approach. You can always target specific deficiencies later, if you find them.

Right on, Happygal.
The best therapeutic trial doses would be about 2 grams of elemental magnesium twice a day. If the individual is absorbing it he should notice benefits in a week and then can start reducing the dosage till the maintenance does is found.
