I may not have gone through the magnesium archives properly, but I dont seem to understand what Magnesium IV is.
Iam planning to take Mg IV in india, so Iam trying to understand what it is.
I see that you are refering to elemental magnesium but what are these injections, I mean are they Magnesium Sulphate ?, I read that many people said that their doc gave them Magnesium sulphate. Is this what you are referring to ? Magnesium Sulphate IV with 1000 mg of elemental magnesium per day ? please advice.
Iam sorry if Iam asking you the same question that many have asked you, but I dont seem to understand it.
Many Thanks,
Nateshan

Hi, Nateshan.
I thought I had done a pretty good job explaining this in the archives but here goes again:
Magnesium sulphate is mostly sulphate by atomic weight. The formula is MgSO4. That means the atomic weight of Magnesium one time, the atomic weight of sulphur one time and the atomic weight of oxygen four times for each molecule. With that information you can figure out how much ELEMENTAL magnesium (by weight) you would get from one gram of MgSO4.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response Dr Stoll. I got it into my head now :-). I was basically confused that should I take Magnesium Sulphate IV or elemental Magnesium IV :-).... (I was under the impression that you get elemental magnesium IV where all of it was elemental magnesium :-) ... understand that you cannot keep elemental magnesium stable and its only available as a compound)....
Many thanks Dr Stoll.
