magnesium IV doctor

Posted by yogini [3298.1384] on February 07, 2005 at 10:54:47:

Hi all, I've been reading about the magnesium IV's and would like to try it. I'm recovering from Lyme disease and supplemental magnesium has been miraculously helpful in the last few months at helping my tremor and muscle spasms. However, I can only tolerate a very low dose.
Strangely, out of all the "holstic" doctors I've seen, not one ever suggested taking magnesium despite my textbook magnesium deficiency symptoms.

My question is does anyone know of a doctor in Maryland or surrounding states (PA, VA, DC) who has done this for them?
Thank you!

Hi Yogini,

Sorry about your infection.. How long did you have it before
it was diagnosed?
Did you take the intravenous Rocephin or
are you still on doxycycline?

I believe that Dr Gabe Mirkin still has an office in Maryland.
He is not a Lyme specialist but knows what to do.

Have you ever heard of Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum? He is MD in Annapolis area. He
does Magnesium IV's and is a wonderful human being. He is a best selling
author. One of his books entitled " From Fatigued to Fantastic". 410-573

I can't say that I have heard of magnesium being helpful.
Having textbook magnesium symptoms may not be due to being defficient. Lyme can mimic many conditions.
If you stop the magnesium, do your symptoms always worsen?
You must prove to yourself that magnesium works as you say.
Remember that magnesium is going to cause diarrhea, so you should take it with calcium to balance the effect.

All I am suggesting is that it may be a coincidence.
If you started eating Mars bars and then began feeling better, you would likely be telling everyone to try those
bars insted.

Thanks for your concern, Ron. Yes, I am certain that the magnesium is what is helping my muscle spasms and tremor. Much to my surprise it has helped with a myriad of other symtpoms as well. I no longer take antibiotics and my health has done nothing but improve in the two years since I went off. In my opinion the antibiotics did more harm than good for me.

Hi Victoria, Wow, I called Dr. Teitelbaum, did you know he charges $5000 for an intitial consultation. That seems pretty outrageous to me, even if he is a wonderful human being. I'm in shock!

Hi, Yogini.

I agree! That is scandelous. Go to the chelation reference and find someone who is not in the business of just making money.
