Hello. Thanks for the great site. I have had palpitations all my life, even as a child where they scared the heck out of me. I have had a recent Thalium Stress test and was diagnosed with PVC's. I understand that the PVC's are increased under conditions such as high sodium.
My concern is that I was up until 3:00AM with a vague discomfort in my chest that I concluded was due to the sodium. Even while laying down I can get a lightheaded sensation that elicits a reaction similar to falling. You sort of grasp for something. I'm wondering if I could be having PVC's so rapidly that I'm not getting O2.
Is that possible?
Thanks for any thoughts.

As soon as I read your title, I thought of magnesium.
Sodium lowers magnesium. It used to happen to me too.
I'd look into getting more magnesium. Balancing meals and avoiding high sodium foods might be a good idea for you also.

Hi, Ted.
Listen to Lurch and Jayne.
You need to become enough of an expert in this that you can begin to control it yourself. See the cardiac dysrrhythmia and the magnesium archives to start.
let us know what you learn.

Magnesium makes a lot of sense. The sensation lasted an awfully long time. Couple of days, actually. It seemed that my heart was almost vibrating lightly, and when I check a pulse, it's weak. I sort of meditated a bit on it and the chest sensation stopped briefly and the pulse strength increased dramatically. The chest sensation returns and the pulse gets weak.
Does any of that ring a bell? Thanks so much for the insight!!

Well, I took the advice here and bought the Magnesium Gluconate. Works like a charm. If I'm headed into a larger sodium intake, I take 1/2 a pill. That's only 25% of the USRDA. I'm thoroughly impressed!
Sad that I've had PVCs, and high blood pressure and was being seen by doctors. It's sad because PVC's are known to be triggered by reduced Magnesium. Sad because BOTH of my blood pressure medications are known to reduce Magnesium.
I actually stopped both medications, and monitored my blood pressure twice daily, as well as times of slight stres elevation. The result? 128/85 consistently. Why in the world was I on blood pressure pills still?
I'm glad this forum was here and glad for all of the great feedback. Thank you all very much.
Ted
