Mg to overcome longstanding "candida"??

Dr. Stoll:

I really appreciate the vast knowledge that you share on this BB.

I hope that you can provide some insight for me. I have a candida problem - I believe I got it from tetracycline given in 1993 for acne.

For the past 3 years I've been eating a whole foods diet (don't know if it follows the diet in the book that you recommend - I'm waiting for my copy to arrive).
Mostly, I eat greens and other low carb veggies - my protein source is usually fish and homemade kefir. I take fiber (psyllium and apple pectin) along with my
probiotics (high dosages of high potency probiotics ~250 bill. CFU/g.

During the 1st year after identifying candida, I was able to get rid of my "allergy" symptoms and my "chemical sensitivities." However, I just can't seem to kick fully
the candida - I recently decided to do a liver flush, and drank loads of apple juice. I got such stabbing pain in my gut - I suspected that the candida was back.

A constant problem for me has been unrestful sleep. From what I've read about Magnesium, I believe that my sleep problems are rooted in an Mg deficiency. My
doc. did a RBC Mg test and said that my levels were OK - at the time, I was taking LOTS of MgCl2. Whenever I quit the HIGH dosages of Mg, my sleep
problems, and then other problems return. When I was taking the MgCl2, I had diarrhea problems. I didn't know whether to blame the diarrhea on the Mg or on
candida?? Could low Mg explain why I cannot overcome this last bit of candida??? Or will I never get over it??? I've even taken sporonox for the candida.
