Magnesium Supplementation

Posted by Peter Wray on March 07, 1998 at 08:56:11:

Dr. Stoll,
I have read quite a bit about the importance of magnesium and have an idea of how much to supplement and in what form. I also recall you mentioning that a person who is serverely deficient may have difficulty absorbing oral mg. This may be a a result of LGS.

If a person is severely deficient, in what form can they get the mg supplementation they need?

Also, you mentioned that the optimum intracelluar mg level varies significantly from person to person. How can one determine their personal level?

Thanks Once Again.

Peter

Hi Peter,

The only way I know is by injection several times a week for a couple of weeks.

The only way I know at this time (for one to know if they have enough inside the cell) is by how they feel. Since there is a long way between the effective level and the toxic level. One would know they were better LONG before they could have any negative side effects.

I think the only real reason, at THIS time, to get an intracellular level done is for those people who like to see something in black & white BEFORE doing anything. However, when one stays inside THAT stockade, they are limiting their health level to what little we know. So far the bodymind God gave us is far superior to anything we have been able to work out in the lab.

Once a person is feeling great, it might be worth while getting an intracellular level done to document that this level IS one's personal normal.

I hope this is answering your questions.

Walt

Any findings relating magnesium and heart beat regularity? Can deficiency cause an irregularity in the electrical conductivity of the heart?

Dear Bob,

This has been discussed for years right here on this BB. Use the search feature & read everything you can find about cardiac dysrrhythmias. Then, if you still have questions, write again.

Go to your local medical library & ask the reference librarian to find you a copy of the world's standard work (several inches thick) about magnesium. It is by a woman PhD biochemist (British, I think). You will find more than you want to know about this there. WHY it is not standard knowledge among medical practitioners is a mystery to me.
