Dr. Stoll need a pro opinion on Cellulite Redux

Posted by Bix [1843.2579] on March 13, 2006 at 22:08:50:

I work for a Dr. We have a Machine/equipment that is created to " temporarily" reduce the "bodies appearance" of cellulite. I have been certified to use/operate the equipment. I have seen some results on some "bodies". I question it so in my mind.

From your experience, is it feasible a machine thru stimulating the underlying tissues thru non-evasive suction/massage actually reduce or reorganize "fat cells" to make cellulite look less noticible?

It is a huge market and used widely by medical professionals for both post-op liposuction patients, and non lipo patients alike.

Any Thoughts

Thank You
Bix

Hi! I just thought I'd mention something I came across today on the internet. I read that cellulite is due to a poorly functioning lymphatic system and that detoxing for this would improve the appearance of cellulite. I don't remember the site, but you could google cellulite, lymphatic system.

Just a suggestion.

Naya

That is one of the key things that is the topic of Cellulite but my Question is about the Machine.
The actual mission statement of receiving these treatments are:

This is to be incorporated with a Healthy Diet, Excercise, Water Consumption and you can not be over weight to receive the treatment. It is for those who have Cellulite that is obvious, to temperarily deminish the outward appearance.

I just question it - ugh.

Thank You Naya for your kind Response.

Bix

Hi again, Bix. Dr. Stoll will answer tomorrow morning. Hope he can help you out. I don't know anything about the machines, sorry. I wonder, too.

Hi Bix and Naya,

I am seeing a new massage therapist specifically for lymphatic drainage massage. She is reported to be the best in this area for lymphatic drainage, and I certainly believe that now after about 5 sessions with her.

She has told me that cellulite is related to dysfunction of the lymphatic system, as Naya said, and that it is probably a bit more complicated than that with accumulation of toxins. Most toxins have an affinity for adipose tissue, so they tend to hang out in legs, buttocks, and thighs.

She has done some work on my cellulite and gave me some pointers on working on it at home. She told me today that I can use a hand massager/wand to work the area as well, to help both the cellulite and the fibromyalgia lumps go away. With the massages and what I'm doing at home, it IS working.

I know you were asking about your machine, but if it is something that vibrates or shakes the area, maybe it will actually work to reduce cellulite. The patient should be sure to drink a lot of water and combine the treatments with some type of detox program, I would think, for best results. Maybe that would be more permanent, then, which your boss would not like :o)

Hope that helps,
Nutmeg

Hi Bix,

Cellulite is no more than fat trapped in a skin layer that is well-connected to the tissue below with tiny ligament bands.

Loosing weight all over the body is the only way to deal with the resulting puckering of the surface.
In many, that may not work either.

Are you talking about Endermologie? I wonder if that really works on celulite too? I've heard though, it's not good for people that has/get spider veins easily, due to the pressure on the skin.

Sorry, Bix, no experience.

Makes a little sense to me. I would really like to hear of anyone's experience with this.

After around 6 months of perfectly avoiding all dairy, my cellulite was virtually gone.

Labrat,

Was that with or without weight loss? Did you lose weight during or prior to the cellulite disappearing?

If I remember correctly it was well after my initial weight loss of around 20 lbs that occurred when I added red meat and fat back to my diet and eliminated grains, dairy, and processed foods. The weight came off pretty fast, but the cellulite took a lot longer!

Yes, the treatment is of the copyright of Endermology.

I feel that the process and science behind it does make sense. However, I wonder if it truly is something that actually is beneficial.
I provide the service to patients that are Post Lipo (most) and it does make sense that it will re-organize the underlying tissues post lipo.

The head of the machine consists of two rollers and a two inch gap - in between the rollers. The Rollers are running east to west a selection of a trigger. (I control it within the head, it is a hand held button - that I change directions of the rollers) The skin is lifted and Sucked UP into the rollers - promoting a deep penetration. Which is a stimulus to the circulation of the fluids within the body. Which breaks up the fat pockets/cells and makes them more fluid under the top layer of skin. That is the entire basis of the treatment. The suction is regulated upon the clients tolerance. It can be painful if it is too high.

During training I had about 16 hours of endermologie done to me/my body. The first day after about six hours of treatment - I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a Truck. My eyes were swollen, my body hurt and I had no energy. I did not drink enough water to let the stimulated toxins to be eliminated. And I felt it.
I went back to my 2nd day of training and the Instructor looked at me, and simply Stated - YOU did not Drink enough Water. My face said it all. I never made a comment that I felt like crap.

So I know it effects the body. I am just wondering if it a real deal for making cellulite disapeer (even temporarily) I feel that I cannot promote something I truly do not feel is working. That is why I asked the question is this just another marketing tactic or does it really have worth. We have people paying alot of money and having strict appointments to be kept weekly. I do not want to represent false treatments that are with no true results regardless of the money.
