Help - Cellulite

Posted by Kate on June 14, 2001 at 08:10:31:

Please give me some advice. I have cellulite on my butt and thighs, and I'm very self concious about it so I don't wear a swim suit or shorts. What can I do to get rid of it? I am only 21 and I'm not over weight and I eat very healthily and excercise regularly. What can I do? Any advice is much appreciated.

Walt's advice is to eliminate ALL dairy from your diet....easier said than done! :o)

I have not consumed any dairy at all for the past three years, as I've been vegan for that time. Yet I have only had cellulite for about two years, so it cannot be caused by dairy. Any other advace?

How about more GOOD oils and fats?

Maybe you need more essential oils and fats. I myself could not be a vegan. I tried it. I got sick. Maybe you still need some fats and oils in order to metabolise things better. What sort of oil and fat do you get being a vegan? I"m thinking it's like water retention and if you drink more water, it helps...

YOu have fat retention...eat more good fat and it will help!

just a thought!

Hi, Kate.

The one thing that is sure is that cellulite is basically hormonal. IF you read every lable to be sure that there is no dairy in any of the vegan things you eat, YOU must be making the hormones.

The only thing I could suggest is that you change the hormones your hypothalamus is signalling your body to make by dealing with the altered signals the stress-effect storage is making your hypothalamus send.

You already have 2 legs of the wellness stool covered with your healthy diet and exercise. it is now time to add the third and practice effective SR at least twice a day. See the search engine, glossary, home page and archives about how to do that with SR.

Let us know how you do.

Thanks Walt, I've started going to a meditation class each week, and I'll practice twice daily. I hope this will be effective skilled relaxation. Is there a way to do biofeedback without any special equipment?

I have recently (since I discovered this BB last week) changed my diet to include more olive oil and nuts and flax oil, and I am nolonger eating altered fats like margarine. So hopefully this will help me. Thanks for the advice.

Hi, Kate.

I wish there were. The Yogis learned how to do that after many personal years of practice. The advantage of biofeedback machines is that one can find out in an hour and not have to practice awareness for many years to get to the same point.

Get books on yogic practices and get going since it will take you many years to be sure.

Let us know how you do.

Thanks, Kate.

Let us know what you have noticed in a few months. It will help to keep a diary of exactly how you are feeling now and how that changes whenever it does.
