MVP chest pains

What are your thoughts on the chest pain that goes along with MVP. I've had chest apins all my life, in fact that was what got me to the doctor when I got my MVP diagnosis (I was 17 then). It seems that when my other so called "symptoms" act up my chest pains also get dramatically worse.

I too would get chest pains and that was why I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with MVP as well. However, my chest pains have gone away when I cut back on my bracing which is the cause of them. If you ask you doc why MVP causes chest pains he will not have much of an answer. The pain has nothing to do with your heart. If you read Dr. Stoll's archives on MVP, bracing, SR, ect. you will find these "symtoms" have nothing to do with your "MVP".

Im not denying the fact that there may be something
else causing the pain. I dont beleive I have a heart
"problem". The pains have never been anything more
than a nuisance, and seem to subside when I exercise
regularly, watch what I eat, etc. BUT, the pain is only on
the left hand side, only in the area of the heart. At times,
I get a tingly numbness in my left arm as well. Do
people without MVP experience this? Im not trying to be
a smartass, just trying to understand.

My boyfriend has exactly what you describe and he
does not have a MVP. He even has trouble lying on his
left side or having any pressure there at all, as it
causes pain in his heart and arm. Yet his hear is ok
according to 2 cardiologists.

He notices that it is worse when he is tense, so he
believes it is caused by unconcious bracing. Have you
looked into that? He also says that when it is really bad
if he exercises intensely it goes away. This seems odd
to me, but he swears by this technique. When he asks
me to play tennis at odd times I know he is having an
"episode."

If it is caused by bracing, which a lot of us have,
practicing SR twice a day will improve it significantly.

Al,

All the responses tell the tale. If you cannot get the idea from them and the homepage article and the archives. I guess you are just going to have to keep your symptoms.

I know this is blunt but I have already done my best to debunk this FAD diagnosis and other physicians (those still able to think) are now beginning to agree with me.

Yes those are also "symtoms" but, you can go get checked out by your doc to set your mind at ease.
