Dr. Stoll / Mitral valve

Posted by Dahlimama on February 02, 2003 at 10:11:51:

Hi Dr. Stoll,

My daughter who has been dignosed with MVP is about to have her wisdom teeth removed. Is there anyway around the antibiotic nightmare? They usually give her so much she becomes ill, even for routine work. I have the feeling most dentist don't even know the correct amount, they're just covering their bases.

I was wondering if collidal silver would be wiser choice.
What do you think?

Are the antibiotics used as precautionary measures? Check the archives, Walt hasn't recommended them for that. If there is an active infection you may need them.

Hi, Dahlimama.

Listen to Sally. If you need your dentist's approval ask him to find you articles proving the need for prophylactic antibiotics for even proven cardiac abnormalities. All he will find are articles proving that they are NOT beneficial!

Besides, in my opinion, MVP is an invented diagnosis for the benefit of the doctor with no basis in reality. Many docs are beginning to agree with me and I KNOW what will be said about it 10 years from now.

If it were me, I would just throw the prescription out the window.

Hope this helps.

Walt

Dr. Stoll,
I am not sure what you mean when you say that MVP is an invented diagnosis for the benefit of the dr. with no basis in reality. Are you saying that it is not a real condition?
I look forward to your response.

Check Dr. Stoll's archive on MVP on his home page, it explaines his point more clearly.
