HI, Fiz.
In MY opinion, your doc does not have a clue. He is just "practicing".
I am blocking for the exact term for this right now but it is an unusual symbiosis between a bacteria and a fungus. You could look it up in the medical library by asking the librarian to find you the best, color, dermatology atlas they have and look it up yourself.
There was one other person with this on this BB a couple of years ago and I think I archived it in hair or in skin necrosis. I didn't happen to be "blocking" that day :o).
Let us know what you learn.

Hi, Fiz.
My mental block is gone. The term is "kerion". Ask your doc to check for that.
Since he missed the diagnosis, perhaps you will need to see a dermatologist and ask him about that before he sees you. If you wait till after he may be too embarrassed to admit the diagnosis to you.
