MOLLUSCUM CONTAGIOSUM....HELP!! (Another option.)

Hi. I have been diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum. What a nightmare this has become. I am in my twenties and have contracted it through my gym I believe because I havent been sexualy active recently. I have been reading so many conflicting treatments. What works? I heard of comfrey, aldara, and freezing them off and a machine that uses positive/nagative currents of some sort. I have been to 2 dermatologists and am not pleased with results of freezing. They have spread from my neck to my back and genitals. Anyone with any helpful and proven methods please help. I appreciate any help!! Thanks!

While researching some other stuff, I ran across this Q&A concerning molluscum contagiosum on Dr. Weil's web site.

It's strange how something I never heard of before, now pops up two days in a row !

Hi, Jay.

I have never heard of freezing being effective. Sharp curretage is the way I was taught.

However, as I have learned more I would first suggest listening to Susan D. Also, as I recall, there are some alternatives saved in the skin archives on this 'site.

My two children caught molluscum contagiosum. They were covered with warts. We bought something online called Konzerol, it took about 2 weeks and it was gone... off both my kids! It was a pain to apply it because we had hundreds of these warts but it really worked!
