I'm 30 years old and was diagnosed with MS in January of '99. I'm am currently on Avonex and am on a diet taken from Dr. Swank. I take a multy vitamin, eat low saturated fat, take cod liver and flax seed oil, and stay away from dairy. I try to stay away from wheat, but don't always. I just my second MRI done in June, 2000 The Dr compared it with my Jan., 1999 MRI and found improvements. One spot was gone and the other was less significant. I know the question was for anyone with complete recovery which I do not believe that I have, but I have been doing excessent since I began the diet and medication. I began that diet in August of '99 and the Avonex in Oct. of '99. Since Aug. of '99 I have had no new exaserbations and my MRI has improved. I thought that this might be of interest even though I still do not know what the future holds.

Thanks, addy.

Dr Swank's diet is, to MY knowledge, by far the best diet for this condition. I have little doubt that your clinical and MRI improvments are due to the diet. The only other thing I can suggest is for you to learn about the direct relationship there is between MS and mercury from amalgams.

With a terrible problem like this, it is not good enough to just do those things that make you better. You need to, for the rest of your life, keep looking for other contributing factors and eliminating them. As you get older, and your metabolism and immune system less efficient, the same things that made you better earlier in life may no longer keep the problem from recurring.

Namaste'
