Greetings all:
Below are two interesting links that I got from this site that I feel are worth reposting...both pertain to depression/ and or bipolar disorder. One is about the use of magnesium...I have been taking some recently with my calcium, and would say there is some change, but not night and day. The second is about a gluten/cassein free diet. I also did this, and have not been 100% religious about it, but it does make me feel better.
A couple tidbits I might add. I think that essential oils for bipolar are very important. I've seen helpingyou post about their theraputic benefits, but their benefits have not been extolled. Anyhow, I am going to stand on top of my computer table right here and now, and beat the drum and say that "ESSENTIAL OILS ARE VERY VERY HELPFUL FOR THOSE SUFFERING FROM EMOTIONAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS" I really like Udo's blend, which I just bought from Canadianvitamins.com for 1/2 price of what you can buy them in the US for. The funny thing is that they are made in the US, then shipped to Canada. At least that's what happened with the last bottle that I had. Made in Lynden WA by FLORA.
Also, helpingyou, thanks for the link to crohns.net. That was very helpful. I think I'll buy my primal defense there from now on instead of Christines cleanse corner.

I had to do a ton of research on mental illness (also autism, PDD, ADHD, food allergy's, food triggers, celiac disease, gfcf diets, malabsorption, candida yeast, leaky gut and digestion, biochemical imbalances, etc.) -- because my son was basically raging (adopted at birth, perfect home, no abuse, tons of love & affection, no reason to be crazy or raging, basically) ... anyway, just pull this article up, print it & read it. Omega 3's will help a lot. Also, try to stick on gfcf diet. (no gluten, no dairy) www.gfcfdiet.com
Good luck & may God bless.

Indeed. EFA's are very helpful. We haven't even had to go gfcf with my daycare child who has Asperger's Syndrome. The EFA's are in the nutritional supplement that we give him every day and his rages have disappeared. His attention span lengthened; no meltdowns and his sensory issues seem a lot less apparent (had a problem with his new winter coat at the beginning of winter and he overcame that very quickly). So I agree with you, Straw.

What is the supplement the daycare child is on? I'm looking for tips regarding Asperger's as I have a student with that diagnosis. Thanks!
