EFA's I'm a believer!!!! 3....6.....9.....woo hooooooooo

Wow...what a difference. I've had acne problems ever since I can remember. Within the past few years it had gotten extremely bad ever since my ongoing battle with fungus started. (my son got ringworm when he was in kindergarten. He's now in third grade and "I'M" still suffering with fungus) Well, I've tried everything and had just pretty much figured I'd have to deal with it for life because nothing would kill the fungus...and the fungus made my acne flare up horrible. (my son asked me if I had chicken pox once....or twice....) Well, I visited my brother a few weeks ago and he looked at my face then proceeded to tell me what he was taking for the blackheads he would get on his face and back. He went to the frige and showed me a bottle of flaxseed oil..said he takes it at least twice a day with meals. I asked him how long did it take to work, and he said pretty much immediately. Well, I didn't really think much of it at the time because I had been taking fish oil caplets and figured it was basically the same since it was omega 3. Didn't really see any difference in my skin, though. (which still kinda puzzles me. What is different about the fish oil that it does not work the same way?) But I thought about it later and decided to give it a try anyway...

Well, can't believe the difference. The night of the first day I took it my skin seemed smoother, but I thought I was just imagining things. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't believe my hands when I ran them accross my face. Just to think all these years and all it would take to cure my acne was flaxseed oil. Whats even more amazing is, not only has it prevented bumps from happening, but the skin where the clusters of acne were; as well as the scarring and rough patches because of it, has basically healed like overnight! Even my skin in general is glowing! I used to get little bumps on my arms and legs (looked like chicken skin) and that's all gone. My skin used to be sooo dry, but now I get out of the bath and I hardly need to use lotion. Even my scalp is different. I don't get a gunky build up of dandruf and oils. In fact, I havn't been able to find any dandruff yet. I'm anxious to see the difference it may make in my hair as it grows out. Ever since my fungal problems began my hair has been drier and brittle. It comes out by the roots and breaks off as well.

I'm just afraid I'll wake up one day and it will stop working. (just like everything else that works for a while and then your body gets "hip" to it and says "oh, no, I'm not gonna let that work." But, hopefully it will continue to make a big difference.

I decided to give my son a bit this morning. He's had a lot of general skin problems since birth and gets scarred up a lot from scratching. Both of us get these dry itch patches that scab over in the winter. When he was a baby he had excema really bad, espeically on his face. He would scratch it raw. And, you know, I've been thinking, if I had known about EFA's when I was breastfeeding and taken supplement, it probably would have made a world of difference in his skin. But anyway....

Sorry for the long post, but I'm just so excited I had to share. {:o)

Yeah, I can believe it too, lilo.

My rash started up yesterday, after not taking the flax seed oil for a few days. I woke up yesterday with it itching and red. I immediately went to the fridge, took 2 tbspsns of flax oil, as I needed immediate relief. I get very irritable when I get the itchies! :) And it worked like a charm. The rash today is gone, and no evidence of redness or itching. Actually it took about an hour after taking the flax, for the itching to subside which I reckon is darn good!

I do have to say I much preferreed taking the flaxseed caps than the straight liquid, but at themoment here in Aust. you cant get the flax in caps.

Also, my scalp
is in much better condition. Not cured, but 80% bettter. I havve a dry scalp, so I was thinking that what I should do is after washing, apply olive oil to my scalp and that will prevent any dry spots from developing. Seems to work a charm on my nephew who has cradle cap. My hair also is much healthier and glossier now, and I directly attribute that to the flax. I have gotten compliments from people I work with on my hair.
It was dry and frizzy in areas, and now the frizz seems to have vanished. I think it was caused from such a dry scalp, and not allowing the natural oils penetrating the hair shaft.

Congratulations on doing so well, and I hope it keeps up!:)

I wonder if this might work for me? I've had small bumps on the backs of my arms and even my rear end for as long as I can remember, pretty much from adolescence (I'm 31 now.) My skin there is slightly blotchy as well. Your post might be a breakthrough for me, too. Does this sound like what you had? I don't get itching with the bumps, just blotchy and unsmooth all the time. Congrats for you - don't you love finding miracles?

Annie,

Believe it or not, the most common cause of this in those exact areas is from a habit of how you buff your skin during your shower & drying afterwards. Those are the 3 most common places where it takes a little extra stretch to reach and so no buffing takes place there at all.

The EFAs might be enough to resolve this, in spite of the habit, but the combination will clear it up faster.
