Hi,
Could someone help straighten this out for me. Mercola
says to use fish oil in the summer, cod in the winter.
Was already to try the fish oil, then read a post here
were it made one constipated. Then read another post
were flaxseed oil helped acne. What or is there a difference
between fish and flaxseed oil health wise. And yes
I already have acne and constipation problems.
Thanks in advance

There is a significant differemce
The body has to convert some of the veg oil to EPA and DHA, both of which are found ready made in fish oil.
If you are young and healthy there may be no problem here.
But if you are old and cold then of course all biological chemical activities will be slower.
hope this helps

It is not just age that dtermines how effectively a person converts short chain fatty acids to long chain fatty acids. Some people have metabolic blocks that hamper their ability to do the conversion. Such blocks can exist in young people as they are largely dtermined by genetics.

Hi, Confused.
Listen to both Linda Ffe & GG.
There is quite a lot of difference between fish oil and flaxseed oil. For the most effective omega 3s, one would want to use fish oil and for those sensitive to fish or the after-taste, perhaps flaxseed oil would fill most of the bill---depending upon the genetics of the individual.
Hope this helps.
