evening primrose oil/flaxseed oil

Posted by Eric on August 07, 1999 at 02:31:12:

First of all, thank you so much Dr. Stoll! My acne has all but cleared up in the last month since I have started SR and taking evening primrose. Unfortunately, I fear that the oil is causing some toxicity in my liver. My lips have become incredibly numb, which is what happens after i am on any prescription medications for over a few weeks. I researched this possible toxic reaction and, found this site:
http://www.sensiblehealth.com/liver.html

Personally, i will take numb lips over acne anyday, but if this is a sign of something dangerous, i would greatly appreciate any suggestions you can give. And yes, I have searched the BB and read everything I could find about liver toxicity :), and I came up pretty empty. Once again, I am forever in your debt for your free services. Thank you.

Hi, Eric.

The doses of the oils recommended cannot cause this although there are plenty of environmental things that can.

You could pretty well rule out the liver thing by going to your healthfood store and learning about Cayce's Castor Oil Packs. Any good HF store would have printed protocols as to what you would need and how to do it. I would also take at least double the recommended dose of alpha-lipoic acid (also available at the HF store) which cannot possibly hurt you but would boost the metabolic detoxification function of the liver very significantly. If this is liver toxicity, you will get a lot better within a few days. THEN, you would have to decide what is in your environment that could cause this.

To do this you might need a good Clinical Ecologist. You could find the closest Certified CE by going to the email site at asem@bellatlantic,net .
