Dear Dr Stoll,
My name is nathan sgro and i have had osgood for 2-3 years now and i am realising that it is not going away and the lumo is not getting any smaller. I am currently active in skateboarding and i think that this is half the problem for it involves alot of jumping and cutting. I would just like to what what i should do about it and know that if it will possibly go away.

Hi, Nathan.
Commonly, the very last thing one wants to change is the one that one must to resolve any chronic problem. You are just learning this early. This developmental problem can only be menaged by the individual fully inderstanding the mechanism and then being willing to do what takes the strain off the epiphyseal area where the quadratus tendon attaches.
I have done my best to explain this in the archives. You can also go to your local medical school library and ask the reference librarian to find you a book (with pictures) that fully explains the process and what to do about it.
Let us know what you learn. This problem will not be over until you are full grown (about 20).
Walt
