Osgood Schlatters Disease

Hi, I wrote earlier about OSD and I have some more questions. After having OSD for 6 years I have recently developed sore and unstable ankles and when I walk my knees make a "klunking" sound, as if the femur and tibia are running over each other.
I tried going back to swimming to see if that would help (I used to swim over 5 times a week), but I have ended up wiht sore ligaments on the inside of the knee. I was wondering if these other things were related??

Thanks very much for the other information you gave me, it was very very helpful.

Hi, Angela.

The only way I can imagine that these are related is through "bracing" (see the glossary). Since serious SR is the only known permanent resolution to bracing you need to become a student of it. If you do not, arthritis and more muscular and ligamentous problems are in your future.

You could get temporary (a year or so) relief via Rolfing). See the glossary.

Osgood Schlatter's only occurs from early puberty to the end of growth. Surely, after 6 years this problem should be passing.

Walt
