I had Osgood schlatters disease in both knees when I was 12 years old. I always had pain when playing sports, but never saw a physician for it. I now am now 26 and have permanent bumps on both knees, just below the kneecaps as a result. Is there any way to treat this or get rid of them at this point? They are not painful (except when kneeling, since they are quite large), but look awful.

Hi, Jamie.

This the most common result of either the physician being too ignorant to properly advise the patient OR the patient not following the proper advice.

Now, you only option is for the orthopedic surgeon to chisel off the excess. Since it is not necessary to enter the knee joint to do this, this is not a serious procedure.

Let us know how you do.

Walt
