Hi, DR Stoll
My primary concentration is on SR in order to minimize other problems brought on by years of BRACING.
Due to having LGS, I'm unable to absorb proper % in order to maintain correct amount of the Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc. According to post today, Hydroxyapetite w/Boron "is the only supplementary form of calcium that has proven not only prevention but reversal of osteoporosis Post in archives stated "properly produced hydroxyapatite has all of these enzymes present in the proper proportions w/the trace minerals."
While working on main cause w/SR, I'd like to prevent any loss of bone density due to malabsorption of essential vitamins and minerals due to LGS. My family thinks I should take Boron in addition to what I'm currently taking and not to bother with the Hydrozyapetite w/Boron.:-( I
do not agree with them.
Trying to minimize # of pills taken daily basis, lower expenses, and practicality. Seem to be at Catch 22 ref to calcium supplements.(worried about loss of bone density due to either mistake @ Doctors office in October, 99 or I SHRUNK 2 inches in my short lifetime)Gee what a pun on word choices!Shrunk & Short!:-)

Hi, Paulette,
Not only is hydroxyapatite with boron among the easiest form of calcium to absorb, taking Boron alone would be like trying to build a ladder with rungs alone, or nails alone or rails alone, etc. The main difference is that there are at least 20 micro elements to making bone and not only does the hydroxyapatite have all of them, it has them in exactly the right proportion.
Besides, you would need a hammer to put together a ladder and the hydroxyapatite not only has a hammer (boron) but the enzymes needed to put it together in the right way (blueprint & directions.
Taking Boron alone, would be like handing a person a hammer and saying make me a ladder without any materials to work with.
Making sense?

Hi, DR Stoll
Thank you again. Especially for letting me know that I AM right.
Strange how I came to this board because of a bad condition that I've been diagnozed. I'm getting better now that I am on the pathway to wellness. A path I've stumbled from a few times. Appears I'm not stumbling as much now.
Just returmed from final edpidural injection where everything went fine. (believe BP of 117/86 isn't too bad for my age.:-)
Namaste
