Hi - I've had POD for almost 8 months...I have heard from countless people and have seen posts on a forumn (not this one) regarding POD. I find that many people feel there is some quick fix, some obscure allergy and so on. yes, there CAN be an allergy that aggravates it - or a sensitivity - but the ROOT cause is always deeper...just like any allergy has a root cause.
So those with POD - I've researched days and nights on this. I've found that yes, cutting caffine, SLS and so on can HELP but not CURE. You have to GET TO THE ROOT. Leaky Gut is for what I've seen, usually the root. PH of the body can help with Leaky Gut and stress, and stress can help with PH..it's a circle. There is NO quick fix. Don't worry as much about your toothpaste, but do begin a wellness program...the 3LS is great - add meditation, add exercise, stop stressing - decrease stress from your life. YOU CAN do that. If you stop fighting what is stressful, it becomes LESS STRESSFUL. You have to rework your mind.YES - REWORK YOUR MIND. Change the chemistry of your mind. YOU CAN. Just like a negative or poor health lifestyle can harm your chemistry, you can slowly bring it to health. You have to take your entire body seriously - not just your face, not just one part. It's a whole vehicle, for your spirit - and you must hold on to your spirit and work on the body - and you'll see that with some hard work (well worth it) and some committment, trial and error too, you'll see the POD vanish...and the better lining here is that the POD is just a symptom or result of imbalance...so when the POD vanishes you are on the road to wellness. POD is not the problem! POD is just a topical signal your body is telling you to "wake up"! POD - as unsightly as it was, was the best thing that happened to me. It forced me to have a committment to myself when I felt blah, sickly and hypochondriacish...it gave me something TO worry about!I hope this helps...
Former POD sufferer,
Michele

I had POD until I had a complete hysterectomy. Had other issues also.
Hope that helps...

My ovaries are raring and healthy - and the men that have POD, well, I think they'd be shocked to have ovary issues!
I do think that the imbalance of hormones you had or the stress could have caused it...

POD is perioral dermatitis. A rash that is basically, around the mouth or near the mouth - but often can be on the eyes or nose area. I used POD because most people use the "POD" rather than spelling it out - I thought by looking it up you'd see the breadth of issues surrounding it... sorry about that.

Not only did I post several times on this subject but I made myself very clear after realizing this person could not find anything - just as I was told by walt when I asked about it...and as I did without being defensive. I relish research, so I assumed others did too... but I did however, further outline POD...and my findings on it.
Instead of saying "grow up" why don't you add something substantial? Your comment sounded juvenille.

Do you know how long it took me to find out what POD was, Michele? 2 shakes of a lambstail! 8) Not long at all. I bet it took those longer to post their question, asking u what it was

Guess that's what I get for assuming...
Sorry if I misled someone.

It is possible that when you were going through that, you were under instense stress, or ph was off....and when you were healing, your entire body went through a relaxation/healing...it's all very probable!

the poster could be more explicit. I agree with the moaning posters actually. It does help if you don't use jargon and it saves time. Who knows, those that cant be bothered to find it in the archives might have the answer!! I think a lesson to be learned - after all it doesnt take much to just spell out what we mean does it?

Hi - Listen, I am really sorry - but on this site, I constantly see shortened names, and I didn't think I was being smug by writing "POD" since that is normally, more often, what it is called! I did the "look it up" because I just figured it would save me from explaining it....because that may have been the next question, "what is it" ...not that I guess it's a big deal, but at the time, I was just writing. sorry!
