I have finally decided to bite the bullet and wean myself off of all of the steroid (elovil, adapalene gel, triamcinolon, metrogel, desonide)creams I have been using for years so that I can clear my skin once and for all. I am going to order and use the non-sls toothpaste. How long shall I expect to have the 'rash' before I see improvement. I am 52 and have had this on and off since I was 15. I've been off the cream for 3 days, and I already look horrible. Does anyone have any encouraging news? My diet is terrible, will drinking loads of bottled (non floridated) water help? Thanks for your help.

Hi, Connie.
Congratulations on getting off the topical steroids. They never did do anything about the cause & eventually had the potential of causing permanent damage.
Drinking lots of water might help but improving your diet would be a lot more likely to help.
It should take about 4 weeks for any effective approach to help.
Let us know how you do.
