perioral dermatits

Hi!
I just read many emails concerning this topic and why for the life of me, I never thought to look on the internet for help.I need some help! I am a twenty three year old female who was dx with this about four years ago. The dermatologist prescribed me with Elocon which I have found out recently is extremely dangerous when treating any disorder, especially when concerning the face. I have been using it for about three consecutive years and when I try to wean myself off this, it flares up worse than before! My case is not that bad, but I don't want to end up with my skin worse than it was before! I can already see that the skin around my mouth has become very thin. I am scared is there anything I can do to reverse this?,but I am unable to give this topical cream up! I went to an herb shop who recommended that I cleanse my colon, would this help? Can you give me more info on the SLS in toothpaste? Could this be my problem? Thank you- Sally Patricia

Hi, Sally.

ANYONE who would prescribe Elocon for more than a year is, IN MY OPINION, a dangerous quack!

You have to get off it at once! It may already be too late to avoid permanent damage to your skin and dermis.

Start with the archives about this and let us know what you learn. Remember that the POD is just at the beginning of the GI tract and is frequently the only symptom of LGS for years.

Serious wellness is the first thing I would do, in your position, and get rid of toothpaste with SLS.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Walt
