I have been under a lot of stress at work since about January and have begun to experience problems with my menstrual cycle beginning in April. My doctor has examined me and told me there is nothing wrong. However, I am having spotting between periods, periods that start anytime after the 21st day of my cycle (I always would get my period on the 28th day) and the periods last longer (they are not heavier, just last about two days longer than they used to).
My husband and I have been trying to conceive a baby since July with no luck (I conceived my first child within two months of trying). Could stress be causing all this or should I get a second opinion.

Hi, Kathy.
Stress IS causing all of this. Yoiu first need to become a student of what your doc won't tell you; Read a copy of Kenneth Pelletier, PhD's classic "Mind as Healer, Mind as Slayer" if you want to understand how this works.
Then, use the archives for this site to find the discussions about your condition. Finally, get a copy of Paavo Ariola, ND's life's work "Every Woman's Book". Both you AND your husband need to devour this book at least 2 years prior to conception. It has been known, for more than 30 years, what will produce the healthiest pregnancy AND subsequent product of that pregnancy.
Once you have this information under your belt, you will likely have more questions. Please post them on this BB so others with this problem will learn from our exchange.
Isn't it interesting that conventional physicians (from the safety of their monopoly) will say "there is nothing wrong" when you KNOW there is?! They need to be more honest with both the patient AND themselves and say "There is nothing wrong that our current paradigm understands."
This is an easily resolved problem but ONLY if you will take the time to become knowledgable about what I am talking about. There IS no magic pill or surgical procedure!
Just to impress you with what I do know about this, I will share with you that even though storage of stress-effect in the hypothalamus is the smoking gun behind this (and that is the technical definition of "stress" in this culture) you have several intermediaries: C-RS & LGS with probable bracing. The reason I did not mention this in my above note is that you first need to understand the basics BEFORE you can ask intelligent questions about what is in this paragraph.
